Recruitment and retention

 

If a site’s accessibility falls below a certain level, this may cause problems for organisations in recruiting and retaining staff: workers will seek workplaces that they can travel to more easily. In marketing business areas, accessibility is becoming more and more important, as employers seek to extend the pool of labour from which they can recruit.

 

An example of a business park that has worked hard to improve its accessibility is Cobalt Park near Newcastle-upon-Tyne in the north east of England. Other examples, from the OPTIMUM² project, are Goudse Poort Business Park and Ede Business Areas
