Two Types of Locations

OPTIMUM² is focussed on two types of locations:

1. Industrial parks with employees who mainly travel by car during rush hour.
2. Busy locations, visited off and on by large groups at irregular hours. Examples are hospitals, museums, amusement parks and sport events. In OPTIMUM² the choice was made to test the new approach at hospitals. At a later stage, the results will be transferred onto other areas with similar transport patterns, and tested there.

The OPTIMUM² approach for industrial parks and hospitals are tested in ten trial projects in the Netherlands and the UK. The means and methods that have been developed within the OPTIMUM² project will then be used for other mobility management plans as well, such as the Ruhrgebiet in Germany, between the cities of Antwerp and Brussels in Belgium, and in northern France.
