Measures and progress
Starting position
Pre- and post-transport PT Goudse Poort does not lie within walking distance from Gouda’s railway station. The only public transport is a bus service during rush hours. It is necessary to invest in better public transport to make alternatives to the car more attractive.
Mobility management is an asset In Gouda, businesses are incited to practice mobility management. Companies can be made aware of alternatives and the money they can save with mobility management.
Parking The new standard parking value in Gouda means that per square metre of company premises fewer cars will be allowed to park at Goudse Poort.
White bicycles Goudse Poort is only a 10 to 15 minute bicycle ride from Gouda’s historic centre or the water-abundant surroundings. Businesses can position themselves with the name and reputation of Gouda and by wining and dining their guests in the historic centre. The bike ride to town is an experience in itself.
Park management Park management is the ideal tool to guarantee a continuous stream of quality impulses for both the park and the terms for opening an office.

Results
Goudse Poort Express A unique joint effort of authorities and businesses to establish a bus service between the station and Goudse Poort outside rush hours. Monitored on a monthly basis to provide an insight into the number of passengers.
Goudse Poort Card Businesses can provide their staff with a Goudse Poort Card, sponsored by Mobility Mixx. 1,000 cards have already been sold. Card holders can travel on the Goudse Poort Express. In the future new mobility services will be added. As an additional service, companies may book day tickets for their visitors.
Central parking A parking manual was made to assist the integration of central parking into the development plans. In addition, a concept has been developed for a mobility fund. Innovative initiatives for creating more parking spaces on private grounds will get the support that is needed.
On the drafting board Various ideas have been developed for innovative, highly distinguishable bicycles. Unfortunately, there has not been enough interest for a bicycle scheme as yet.
Mobility desk The park manager, responsible for operational services, will set up the mobility desk and is the contact for all mobility management matters.

Innovative Aspect and Transnational Relevance The implementation of mobility management activities oisoften left until an area has been developed and businesses have moved in. This happens not only in the Netherlands, but in other countries as well, despitethe fact that it is much more difficult to secure business' cooperation and ot funf mobility management measures.
The Goudse Poort is trying to avoid these problems by intruducing mobility management at an early stage of the process, and by developing means that will allow private parties to make commitments. The result is a series of innovative measures.
The Goudse Poort project may be regarded as innovative for the following reasons: 1. In Goudse Poort, the concept of selling the location's accessiblity is centre stage, not a seperate measures. By focussing on location accessibility, all players remain involved. 2. All mobility measures must be remunerative, either seperately or together, with no money added. 3. Goudse Poort will not itself develop any technical innovations, but instead use technical innovations that have already proven their worth in the market. Combining them into larger and coherent integer is what marks the Goudse Poort approach as innovative.
Goudse Poort intends to profit from the lessons learned from other OPTIMUM² projects, including those in the field of dynamic information systems.
